Chiffon and Summertime

Its hot as hell in LA and chiffon is my friend. My very good friend. All my jeans are packed up and under my bed for a while longer while we stretch into the last golden month of summer. Flipping through my most recent instagram posts, I noticed my trend recently is loose, flowy, and sheer. I dont want anything weighing me down this month!
I absolutley am loving this watercolor print top I got at a consigment store for $12 almost four years ago! It is funny how this turned out to be such a closet staple for me. It works so well because it has nearly every color I have in my wardrobe and even goes with my purple hair!
This dress is another consingment store find for $20 just before I moved to LA. I wanted something casual and easy to wear that still fit my girly look and this was the perfect thing! For the first time ever the head designer at work complimented my outfit! Its a good feeling, I am starting to feel more accepted at work and like I am not sucking at it 100% of the time.
Consignment stores are a girls best friend. If you dont shop at them already, what are you waiting for? Other than the steep price discount, you get to shop a variety of brands and styles which is a big plus in my book! I am a social butterfly when it comes to clothes and like to try lots of different brands. Some of my favorite local consignment stores to visit are:
*Buffalo Exchange - good prices for on trend stuff. They also sell vintage which is a plus and have locations all over the country! http://www.buffaloexchange.com
*Crossroads Trading - While they have a mix of the typical trendy brands, they also include a lot of designer pieces. Although they may be a couple hundred dollars, the designer pieces are still a whole lot cheaper than buying new! A great place for the discerning fashionista all over the US. http://crossroadstrading.com
*www.thredup.com is a site I heard about recently. They feature lots of trendy brands for great prices in an online shopping format. So if you arnt a fan of sifting through packed racks and waiting in line for the dressing room, this site is a great option! I also just sent a package with garments to try out their mail-in consignment system, Im hoping it is a good deal!
